The Tuesday Night Athletic Foundation’s 2nd Annual Winter Gala
Tickets Now on Sale!

January 27, 2010 (Newport, RI) -- Everyday, there’s a child or young adult that has the drive and enthusiasm to play sports. Unfortunately, in times like these, sports programs across the country are experiencing funding problems, especially here in Rhode Island.  Some families can no longer pay the fees, equipment, and other costs of their child’s sports.  The Tuesday Night Athletic Foundation (TNAF) believes that cost should never stop a child from playing whatever sport they may choose.  TNAF’s goal is to make amateur sports, at all levels, accessible to every youth, no matter what their family’s financial situation is.  Sports keep kids healthy, off the streets, and teach life skills that will be invaluable throughout their lives.

When money stands in the way of youths playing sports, TNAF scholarships have been the answer for families, high school teams, Boys & Girls Clubs, and individual athletes alike. For the past three years, TNAF has awarded more than $10,000 to deserving athletes across the nation who would otherwise not have the chance to participate.

With the need to continue to relieve the these financial burdens, TNAF will be raising scholarship funds at its 2nd Annual Winter Gala on Saturday, March 6, 2010, at the International Tennis Hall of Fame, from 7 - 10 pm. Those of you who had the opportunity to attend last year’s event can attest to what a great time we all had. Some of the highlights of this year’s event include a silent auction, complimentary cocktails, heavy hors d’oeuvres, live entertainment and more! Tickets are now available to purchase for $50 per person at www.tnaf.org. Please join us for an elegant and enjoyable winter evening!

The Tuesday Night Athletic Foundation (TNAF) is a non-profit organization created to relieve the financial burden placed on families that can be inherent with high performance sports programs; providing scholarships in the pursuit of the cultivation of promising local athletes.  Without the support of you, TNAF could never reach its goal of making amateur sports, at all levels, accessible to every youth, no matter what their family's financial situation is.  TNAF believes that athletics can be a very positive force in a young person's life.  Confidence is gained with every goal reached.  Lasting friendships are made on every team.  Character is built at every failure. www.tnaf.org.
